Far Cry Primal developer Ubisoft Montreal have today confirmed that the gritty action-adventure video game will not only have vanity items for pets you can tame but also have social media integration for taking pictures.
No stranger to charming their customers, Ubisoft Montreal’s Studio Lead, Terry Oppenheim, detailed the move. “We know our player base and we know how much they love the taming aspect of Far Cry Primal. Our core feedback told us that – you know what – players want to make their pets look good.”
Whether it’s a bear, tiger or wolf, players will have the ability to not only buy costumes and head-wear for their animals, but they’ll also have the opportunity share their customized creatures on social media. An integrated“share pet!” button will soon be added to allow users to instantly upload their snaps to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. It’ll allow you to pose with your pet in a variety of ways, including selfies. “The market has changed dramatically. People want to share their game experiences so the ‘Share Pet!’ button facilitates this. By using it players will be able to receive tons of unique rewards and missions.”
But what about the pricing structure and how expensive are these cosmetic items? Importantly, can they also be traded? “They can be traded? Absolutely!” adds Terry. He also goes on to state that, “In terms of pricing, we think $15 for a costume and $10 for a hat is fair, with a monthly subscription of $10 to access the ‘Share Pet!’ We’ve no doubt players will buy into the store.”
There’s no word yet on whether these items will make it for launch Far Cry Primal’s, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted when we hear from Ubisoft Montreal.
